The Division's Third Enemy Faction

Information about the mysterious third enemy faction from The Division finally surfaces. Read on to find out what we know about the Last Man Battalion so far!
So far only two of the factions from The Division have found themselves under the spotlight, but a recent examination of both the beta gameplay and some closed-door-events has led to more information about the third enemy faction from The Division being uprooted.
The first of the three factions revealed were the Cleaners, who utilize flamethrowers in an effort to erradicate anything touched by the virus. The second group are called the Rikers, and they’re comprised of inmates who escaped from Rikers Island prison during the virus outbreak, and have a deep-rooted hatred for authority. Prior to today, we knew that the third faction was called the Last Man Battalion, but until now there hadn’t been much information posted about the secretive group.
YouTuber Arekkz did some detective work, though, and collaborated with a few other gamers to dig up the details on the third enemy faction of The Division. While the Last Man Battalion didn’t make a physical appearance in Ubisoft’s recent beta, they were mentioned via tooltip, in-game audio, and featured briefly in a video posted from a private event.

As the above video shows, the faction is comprised primarily of private military contractors who were in New York to protect civilian high value assets. When the virus knocked down social order, the group found themselves stranded with the rest of the masses. Instead of helping restore order like the Joint Task Force, however, the group of military professionals turned into a highly organized group of brigands, and will represent some of the most difficult enemies of the game.
The group is supposedly led by a lieutenant colonel named Charles Bliss. According to some in-game conversations overheard in the closed beta, Charles’ group of mercenaries have access to some serious hardware, leading a New York citizen to state that the Joint Task Force weaponry and equipment was comparably weak. The above YouTube video also provides a brief glimpse at a Last Man Battalion level 30 sniper, who completely obliterates the lower-leveled player in one shot.
The faction was featured more prominently in a recent behind-closed-doors event that Game Rant participated in, and we’ll have a hands-on report for you in the near future. In the meantime, Ubisoft is considering an open beta for the game, which might provide more details about the faction.
