With Dark Souls 3‘s Ringed City DLC set to release later this month, video game publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has decided to release several fresh screenshots for the second and final expansion for From Software’s action-RPG. For those curious, the recently revealed images provide looks at what the add-on will feature, such as a new boss, new weapons, and more.
As seen in the gallery below, Dark Souls 3 fans get a taste of what’s to come in The Ringed City DLC’s weapon department, as what appears to be a new, curved flaming sword and magic staff are on display, while a couple of fearsome foes in the form of a literally heartless antagonist with a blade of fire and an absolutely gigantic dragon – the lattermost of which is likely the expansion’s big, bad boss. Not to mention, players get a glance at new, gloomy environments and fierce encounters.
These screenshots offer additional color to previously revealed in-game assets for Dark Souls 3‘s Ringed City DLC, as From Software and Bandai Namco also put out a solid gameplay trailer about a month ago that provides a much better idea of how the expansion will play. As a matter of fact, not only does the gameplay video feature most of what is seen in the above screenshots, but also – most importantly – it shows the materials in action.
For the fans intrigued by the fresh Dark Souls 3 screenshots and all of the promotional materials released for The Ringed City DLC thus far, they can purchase the expansion for $15 on its own. However, if they wish to also receive access to the first expansion, Ashes of Ariandel, they can pony up the dough to purchase the game’s $25 season pass.
Thankfully, Dark Souls 3 fans won’t have to wait too much longer for the release date of The Ringed City DLC, but they may lament the fact that it is supposed to be the final expansion for the action-RPG. While that may be the case, it’s good to know that From Software won’t be throwing in the towel altogether, as it plans on spreading its wings as far as possible with three new games in the works.
Dark Souls 3 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, while The Ringed City DLC is set to launch on March 28, 2017 for each of the aforementioned platforms.
