Just recently, BioWare decided to give Mass Effect: Andromeda fans a much closer look at how the forthcoming science fiction shooter’s Loyalty Missions will work, by releasing nearly 18 minutes of gameplay footage for one of the missions featuring the asari companion Peebee that gets played through to completion. Of course, should Mass Effect: Andromeda fans want to go into the game blind and experience the mission for themselves first, then it might be best to avoid watching the video altogether.
As seen below in the video courtesy of IGN, BioWare makes sure to remind fans that the footage taken of Peebee’s Loyalty Mission is from a pre-release version of Mass Effect: Andromeda, meaning that it represents the game in its unfinished state on normal difficulty with the music being removed. Furthermore, the developer did its best to avoid disseminating spoilers, so the studio edited out certain portions of the mission, which is helpful for those not wanting to have plot points ruined for them, but it leaves some significant gaps in the narrative found in the footage.
While it’s not totally clear as to what Peebee’s motivations are in this specific Loyalty Mission, Mass Effect: Andromeda fans at least get a sizeable portion of action, additional details about the game, and how the asari squadmate handles herself in certain situations. For instance, the video shows off several instances of character and environmental interactions, pathfinder profiles, as well as lots of combat.
Beyond Peebee’s prowess in the field, she also contains plenty of depth when it comes to her personality, as she’s also one of Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s romance options. Interestingly enough, though, she won’t be the only asari on-board the Tempest, as the ship will host an asari doctor named Lexi T’Perro, who is to be voiced by the British actress and Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer.
Taking all of this into consideration, it seems as if Peebee will play a pretty significant role in Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s main story, as her likeness has been one of the main images used as a promotional tool for the game. However, fans will have to wait and see exactly how important Peebee will be once we reach Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s release date at the end of this month.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to launch on March 21, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
