Mass Effect: Andromeda Weapons Training Trailer

Just recently, the developers at BioWare decided to release a fresh trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda that provides fans with a quick run down of the basic elements of the game’s combat system and how certain weapons will work within the title. To be specific, this latest piece of footage discusses the four main types of weapons – that is, pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles – while also touching on melee attacks, special skills and abilities, and more.

As seen below in the video courtesy of the official Mass Effect YouTube channel, Liam Kosta – the Security Response Specialist for the Pathfinder team and one of the game’s new companions – gives viewers a crash course in some basic firearm mobility training. As it happens, the footage is surprisingly helpful when it comes to assisting players in determining which of Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s weapons will be right for their play style.

First, Kosta begins with Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s pistols, declaring them to be the standard medium-to-short range weapon that affords quick, on-the-go attacks thanks to their lightweight design and fast reload times. Plus, he even showcases pistols’ explosive grenade rounds. Then, he moves on to shotguns, by detailing their powerful blasts at short range, and showing off their laser shell rounds.

After shotguns, the Andromeda Initiative member touches on assault rifles and their effectiveness at a distance, their high rate of fire, as well as their ability to speedily diminish enemies’ shields. One assault rifle ammo modifier presented is Avenger with electrical conduit, which eliminates enemies with what look like blue lighting blasts. Kosta then goes on to mention the high-powered shots and incredible range of Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s sniper rifles.

Kosta begins to wind down the clip by highlighting Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s Asari biotic swords and Krogan hammers as melee weapons, the game’s various biotic powers, and advanced omni-tool technology. The footage even lists the various specializations players can focus on, such as Adept, Sentinel, Vanguard, and more.

Finally, Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s weapons training briefing shows off the ability to leap high into the air and remain there for a brief period of time with the use of jump-jets, which give a huge height advantage over enemies. Not to mention, jump-jets can even help players quickly evade incoming fire and attacks on the ground with speedy dashes.

Taking all of this into consideration, it’s no wonder why a lot of fans consider Mass Effect: Andromeda to be one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2017. While a lot of folks are undoubtedly ready to experience Andromeda‘s story, it’s quite possible that even more fans are looking forward to handling the game’s futuristic weaponry.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to launch on March 21, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
