For Honor: Betas Host 6M, Largest PC Beta for Ubisoft

Ubisoft divulges details for For Honor‘s betas, revealing the game’s successes in hosting over 6 million players and having the largest PC beta in the company’s history.
Now that For Honor – one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2017 – has officially gone live for its numerous fans, Ubisoft has decided to share some information regarding a few of the more successful figures related to the hack-and-slash game’s recent open beta tests. According to the publisher and developer, the beta periods combined drew in upwards of six million unique players, while also helping Ubisoft to achieve one of the “largest PC beta phases” in the company’s history, with 1.8 million having taken part in For Honor‘s PC trials.
As reported by VG24/7, not only did For Honor host more than six million players during its betas, but also those participating actually logged over two billion minutes across the trials’ PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions. Not to mention, the beta that occurred just recently made up for more than half of the six million fans trying out the game during the test periods, as Ubisoft has declared there were over 3 million playing this weekend alone.
Furthermore, Ubisoft revealed that by the end of the open beta, the Knights Faction came out as the victors in Faction War, which means those who chose the winning faction will be bestowed with Emblems of Power that have golden frames. Interestingly enough, these in-game rewards – in addition to other rewards for all factions that were doled out during the beta – should become available to those who went on to purchase the full game.
While the aforementioned numbers associated with the participants in For Honor‘s betas are certainly impressive, it’s safe to presume that most fans want to know what kind of tweaks were made to the game now that the trials have completed and the hack-and-slash title has officially released. As it happens, Ubisoft has already posted For Honor‘s day one patch notes, which include hero balance changes and more.
Taking all of this into consideration, Ubisoft can be proud of the sizeable audience it managed to pull in with For Honor‘s betas, but the real test for the game’s success has begun now that it’s available on store shelves. For Ubisoft’s sake, the company will hopefully be able to translate the huge crowds for the betas into major sales, and live up to the high quality of the intense combat and gameplay displayed in promotional clips like For Honor‘s launch trailer.
For Honor is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
