Now that BioWare finally has a firm release date in place for Mass Effect: Andromeda, fans are likely champing at the bit for the chance to play the game as soon as possible. Of course, gamers won’t be able to take part in all of Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s adventures until it officially launches, but it seems as if players on the PC platform will be able to pre-load the game well ahead of its availability.
According to a report from The Outerhaven, Mass Effect: Andromeda fans are going to have the chance to pre-load the title on PC starting March 17, 2017. For those unaware, this will give players on PC about a four day advance ahead of those on consoles when it comes to having a digital version of the game primed and ready to go before its release.
Apparently, when fans place a pre-order for Mass Effect: Andromeda through Electronic Arts’ Origin service, a page will pop up displaying that the game will become available for pre-load starting at 1:00 PM ET on March 17. However, it remains to be seen if this date is official due to the fact that neither BioWare or EA have confirmed as much.
Although it’s still unclear as to whether or not Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s PC fans will be able to take advantage of pre-loading on March 17, it has been confirmed that some fans will be able to experience the title before others. As it happens, EA Access members can play the game early, but developers have yet to reveal exactly how large of a portion from Andromeda will be available to those who pay for the service.
As far as Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s PC specs are concerned, BioWare’s General Manager Aaron Flynn recently revealed that they should be announced “sometime in February.” Following the unveiling of the PC requirements for the game, the developer has promised that multiplayer details will be revealed thereafter.
While it’s possible that PC fans might have the edge over PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it comes to pre-loading Mass Effect: Andromeda, it’s worth noting that the game itself should still look and play fantastic regardless of which platform fans use to experience it. Not too long ago, in fact, BioWare’s GM Aaron Flynn confirmed that Andromeda will launch with HDR support for all platforms, including, but not limited to Xbox One S, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PC. Taking this and everything revealed thus far into consideration, it’s really not much wonder as to why Mass Effect: Andromeda is considered to be one of the most anticipated video games of 2017.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled to release on March 21, 2017 in North America, and on March 23, 2017 in Europe for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
