Final Fantasy 15 Glitch Unlocks Niflheim Empire

Thanks to a new glitch discovered by a YouTuber, it is now possible for players to explore the open world in the linear second half of Final Fantasy 15.
From completing Final Fantasy 15 at Level 1 without using items to beating the excessively-long Pitioss Ruins secret dungeon in just six minutes, it certainly appears that the RPG’s endgame is offering up various ways for fans to keep themselves entertained. However, those aforementioned activities pale in comparison to the discovery of a new glitch by a YouTuber, one that allows players the opportunity to explore what is essentially a second open world in Final Fantasy 15.
For those who are unaware, the first half of Final Fantasy 15 is an open-world that takes place in Lucis while the second half shifts the gameplay towards a more linear progression and takes place on the continent of Niflheim. However, YouTuber Caelum Rabanastre XII/XV recently discovered a new glitch which allows players to go out of the map’s usual confines during the game’s linear Niflheim half, giving gamers the chance to explore a whole second continent.
While Caelum doesn’t reveal how exactly he made it out of the map, he had previously exploited the same glitch in the Lucis open-world using Noctis’ Warp Strike attack on specific areas of the map. This suggests that he used a similar technique when he made it to the Niflheim section of the game, but players won’t have to wait long to find out how to exploit this glitch as Caelum promises that he’ll upload a new video showing how he managed to do it.
As for what players can expect to find in Niflheim, there’s not a whole lot besides a variety of detailed but empty fields as the entire map is devoid of almost any interesting locale or landmark. But given that players are able to explore an enormous second open world map with almost no limits (aside from not being able to call Chocobos or occasionally hitting a never-ending loading screen), this certainly suggests that Square Enix initially had bigger plans in store for Final Fantasy 15.
It remains to be seen what will become of this Niflheim open world map and whether Square Enix intends on patching it out, but there’s a possibility that it could be used for some of Final Fantasy 15‘s upcoming DLC packs. With at least three story expansion packs focusing on Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto still to come over the course of this year, as well as copious amounts of free content, players might very well find themselves exploring Niflheim at some point in the future without the use of a glitch.
