Far Cry Primal Gameplay Shown at Game Awards 2015

Ubisoft’s forthcoming action-adventure release with Far Cry Primal shows fans of the series never-before-seen gameplay footage at this year’s Game Awards.
Once the existence of Far Cry Primal confirmed Ubisoft was announcing a new game in the series, fans have been clamoring for any and all information about its release. Thankfully, as previously teased by the producers of the Game Awards 2015, this year’s ceremony has given the title an ample platform to shine, by revealing fresh gameplay footage from the forthcoming title.
Building off of the game’s official reveal trailer, the materials shown expand upon the protagonist Takkar’s plight as a hunter stranded in a valley called Oros 12,000 years in the past during 10,000 B.C., as he fights for survival against saber-toothed tigers, woolly mammoths, and rival humans, while also employing the help of some of the aforementioned creatures in his journeys. Although Far Cry Primal is foregoing the series’ traditional over-the-top flair for a more stripped-down approach, Ubisoft should be commended for continuing to tinker with the franchise’s formula by removing modern technology. After all, the studio has altered elements from the different Far Cry games with success in the past, so there’s a great chance that the forthcoming sequel could rejuvenate the series in a whole new way.
While the previous rumors of dinosaurs making their way into Far Cry Primal didn’t come to fruition, at least Ubisoft is enlisting the help of top-notch talent in the voice acting department. As it happens, the game’s main character will be portrayed by the voice actor Elias Toufexis of whom is most notably known for his role as Adam Jensen in Eidos Montreal’s and Square Enix’s Deus Ex series.
At any rate, with a little less than three months left to go before Far Cry Primal hits the stores, fans of the series ought to be surprised by the final product. If anything, at least Ubisoft is not following the typical blueprint that had become standard of the series. Nevertheless, only time will tell whether or not taking such a risk will pay off for the studio and the game’s team of developers.

Far Cry Primal is set for release on February 26, 2015 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while it’s scheduled for availability on the PC sometime in March 2016.
