Overwatch Halloween Update Release Time Leaked

Overwatch‘s Halloween Terror update will release for all players in a matter of hours and last until the beginning of November, according to multiple leaks

For all those excited for more content for Blizzard’s first-person shooter Overwatch, you’re in luck as a leak announces that the highly-anticipated Halloween update will be releasing soon.

It seems the developer has dropped the ball a little when it came to keeping the secret under wraps, as the Taiwanese Overwatch website accidentally showed a promotion for the Halloween event which will run from the 11th of October through the 1st of November.

Another leak posted to Korean IGR (Internet Gaming Rooms) announced that a patch of 1.74 GB will be releasing at 3AM KST or 11AM PT. It seems that all evidence is pointing to the Halloween even being released in a matter of hours at the time of this article’s writing.

If the leak is correct, players will have a little over 2 weeks to play the new Halloween Terror event which will bring with it “more than 100 Halloween items” in themed loot boxes which will include specially-designed skins, sprays, highlight intros, victory poses, player icons, and voice lines.

It seems that Roadhog will be getting a Frankenstein’s monster skin, complete with green skin and a couple of electrical coils that protrude from the hero’s back. Junkrat is also partially visible, in what can only be his Dr. Junkenstein costume.

Other characters have also been confirmed to get new costumes, according to a leak that revealed details on the Halloween update and new hero Sombra, a couple of days ago. Mercy will be getting a witch skin, while Reaper abandons his traditional skull mask for a Jack-O-Lantern helmet.

The rest of the cast will also be recieving new spooky looks, if the recent Rio Olympics event is anything to go by. We should have the full roster of new outfits by tomorrow, assuming that the update releases on time.

In other recent Overwatch news, director Jeff Kaplan has discussed his plan to redesign Symmetra in the coming patches. An under-appreciated hero, Symmetra may be getting some dramatic design changes to keep her relevant, rather than just general cooldown decreases.

The other support characters, such as Mercy and Lucio, are played far more than the Indian architect, both placing highly on the rankings for most popular heroes. Symmetra, Bastion, and Winston make up the bottom of the list, suggesting that they might need some adjustments to keep the heroes relevant in competitive play.
