Last week, Bethesda announced on the official Fallout 4 Twitter feed that the limited Nuka Cola Quantum replica would be returning to stores this week. However, they didn’t specify an exact date, but Target has now taken care of that for them.
Target’s official website lists Nuka Cola Quantum as coming back on sale tomorrow, December 18th. Gamers who want to try and grab a bottle at the normal sale price of 2.99 should move quickly, as the product will undoubtedly sell out lightning-fast, as it did the first time it was placed on store shelves.
Bethesda and Jones Soda Company announced a partnership to create a real-life version of Fallout 4‘s iconic beverage, Nuka Cola Quantum, as a Target store exclusive. While the real-life beverage strongly resembles the in-game appearance in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, it looks different from the Fallout 4 version. Fallout 4‘s Nuka Cola bottles resemble rocket ships, whereas prior iterations of the beverage come in classic-looking glass beverage bottles. And of course, the replica lacks the glowing radioactive isotope of the in-game original.
Fallout 4‘s Nuka Cola Quantum promotion is, perhaps, one of the most successful in-game replicas any game has seen. While Fallout 4‘s limited Pip-Boy Edition was also wildly successful, its limited numbers and high cost undoubtedly left some fans out. While Jones Soda Company and Bethesda underestimated the demand for Nuka Cola Quantum, its affordable nature meant that fans who were quick to run to their local Target store could pick up a piece of Fallout 4 memorabilia without breaking the bank.
Gamers who have yet to experience Fallout 4 may want to rush to Target tomorrow. Bethesda announced that anyone buying a copy of Fallout 4 in Target stores will be able to pick up a bottle of Nuka Cola Quantum for free, so long as supplies last. Though Fallout 4 has sold millions of copies since its release just over a month ago, there are undoubtedly some who have yet to experience the game, or friends they wish to gift it to for the holidays.
Fallout 4 has received excellent reviews, and while Fallout 4 has fewer quests than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (its Bethesda predecessor) the hundreds of hours of gameplay and underwater exploration help to make up for it. One can hardly blame gamers for wanting to grab as many of the limited bottles of Nuka Cola Quantum as they can get their hands on, though resellers will surely make it even more difficult for fans to find some.
Fallout 4 is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
