E3 2016 may be two months away, but video game publishers and developers are already getting preparations ready for the year’s biggest gaming conference. As the June date edges closer, Ubisoft is the latest video game publisher to announce its schedule for this year’s E3 conference.
According to a new post on Ubisoft’s Twitter page – which can be seen below – the publisher will host its annual E3 press conference on June 13. A pre-show is scheduled for 12.30 PM PT, while the main show will follow on afterwards at 1 PM PT. Ubisoft’s E3 2016 time slot is notably earlier than usual, as the publisher is actually filling in the slot left vacant by Electronic Arts. While Ubisoft has announced its E3 schedule, there have been no details regarding what games will be revealed at the publisher’s conference.
It is speculated that Watch Dogs 2, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and For Honor are likely to make appearances, based on a number of announcements over the past few months. Just recently, Ubisoft confirmed that Watch Dogs 2 will be launched before April 2017, while the upcoming South Park: The Fractured But Whole has been in the works for nearly a year now. Not much has been revealed about For Honor since E3 2015, but given that the game recently appeared in The Division as an Easter egg, we can probably expect some For Honor news in the near future.

While the aforementioned games are likely candidates for Ubisoft’s E3 conference, there’s a chance that a new IP will be announced. Last year, the publisher revealed that it had plans to release an unannounced triple-A title before March 2016, but that date has since gone by with no mention of this mysterious game. One franchise that is unlikely to make an appearance this year is the mega-popular Assassin’s Creed, as Ubisoft recently confirmed that there will be no new Assassin’s Creed game until at least 2017.
A number of publishers have elected to skip this year’s E3, but the confirmation of conferences from Bethesda, Ubisoft, and Rockstar Games ensures that E3 2016 won’t be completely devoid of big name developers and studios. With PC Gamer’s PC Gaming Show returning for another go around this year, and Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealing that Microsoft has something “nice” for its E3 2016 presentation, it looks like this year’s conference is shaping up quite nicely, despite the number of expected no-shows.
Ubisoft’s E3 2016 press conference kicks off on June 13. The pre-show will begin at 12.30 PM PT, and the main event will follow afterwards at 1 PM PT.
