Players can score two different Mewtwo Mega Stones via a special Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon promotion running today only.
Nintendo and Game Freak announced that Pokemon Sun and Moon owners can jump into the Mystery Gift menu and both Mega Stones will be delivered. Just head to the nearest Pokemon Center to pick them up. Each stone will allow the player to Mega Evolve Mewtwo into one of his two different Mega Forms.
Here’s how Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon players can go about acquiring their Mewtwo Mega Stones:
There’s only one thing that might prove troublesome to Pokemon Sun and Moon players — they have to provide their own Mewtwo. Worse yet, Mewtwo can’t even be acquired in Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Because Mewtwo has an aversion to the Alolan islands, players will have to transfer over Mewtwo from an older game via the premium Pokemon Bank service. If nothing else this is likely to increase interest in Nintendo’s new service.
Nintendo also confirmed another special event starting soon for the Beedrill and Mawile Mega Stones. Players can acquire both stones as soon as March 7 if they participate in the 2017 International Challenge. As long as players have won and/or lost three battles, they’ll get the stones as a gift on March 7.
Unfortunately, registration is closed for the ongoing tournament, but hope is not lost. The two stones will be sent out worldwide as a Mystery Gift in April.
Pick up Mewtwo’s Mega Stones, Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y, via Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon‘s Mystery Gift feature today. There’s currently no announced end date for the promotion, so make sure to pick up the stones as soon as possible.
Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are available now for the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.
