The Nintendo Switch release is next week, and excitement for the newest Nintendo console is at an all-time high. Gamers are excited to get their hands on the Nintendo Switch and launch into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch, or another one of the nearly dozen launch titles set to release alongside the system.
For those who can’t wait another week to see what comes in the Nintendo Switch box, the folks at Nintendo were kind enough to upload a quick unboxing video on the Big N’s YouTube channel. The video, which can be seen below, gives gamers a fun look at the Nintendo Switch with personalities Kit and Krysta discussing each of the elements in the box.
As soon as gamers open the Nintendo Switch box, they will find simple visual instructions on how to set up the console. As would be expected with a Nintendo product, the setup process is quick and simple, allowing gamers to quickly boot up the console and start gaming.
Next, gamers will find the touch screen and Joy-Cons for the Nintendo Switch. The unboxing video shows the gray Joy-Cons, but the controller pieces also come in red and blue. While the Joy-Cons can be used separately, they can also be used together for single-player experiences, including using NFC for Amiibo, and a share button so Nintendo Switch gamers can share their favorite screenshots.
Based on the video, the Nintendo Switch looks comfortable when held, and gives players plenty of screen space to enjoy their games. That said, it’s definitely much bigger than the 3DS, so gamers shouldn’t expect to carry it around in their pocket. The duo also go through the other items that come in the box, including the cables, Joy-Con straps, the Joy-Con grip, and dock that holds the Nintendo Switch while gamers are playing on a TV.
Unfortunately, the video didn’t show off the actual setup once the Nintendo Switch is out of the box. That said, a recent early delivery of a Nintendo Switch to one lucky fan allowed gamers to get an inside look at the console’s UI. Speaking of an inside look, gamers can also take a gander at the guts of the Nintendo Switch thanks to leaked internal hardware photos.
With the Nintendo Switch releasing next week, those planning to pick up the console can set up their Nintendo account now that the registration is open. Additionally, be sure to check out Game Rant’s five games like Zelda to tide you over until Breath of the Wild.
