The second year of Destiny‘s in-game Halloween event, Festival of the Lost, sets players on the hunt for some new items, including masks, shaders, and other ghoulish goodies. While it was originally thought hat Festival of the Lost would launch on October 25th at the usual 10am PT, it turns out fans won’t have to wait long. Today, Destiny‘s developer Bungie announced that Festival of the Lost will go live at the weekly reset, otherwise known as 2 a.m. Pacific and 10 a.m. in the UK.
Festival of the Lost will begin at 2AM Pacific on 10/25/2016. Patch notes for Festival of the Lost will be posted after the event has begun.

Many of Destiny‘s special events, such as a raid launch or other live events, usually show up at 10 a.m. but this is one of the first to break the mold. That is likely because the Festival of the Lost kiosk and infrastructure were already pushed live with last week’s economy update, but fans should still take notice regardless.
This time around, the Tower isn’t the only social space getting a makeover. The Reef and the newly added Iron Temple will also be getting in on the festivities. The new Cryptarch in Felwinter Peak, Tyra Karn, will also have a quest for players to complete. Fans already have an idea of the many masks, emotes, and special items available during Festival of the Lost, but the event will also bring new Ornaments for exotic pulse rifle Bad Juju.
Bungie also said that all Crucible matches played during Festival of the Lost, which runs from October 25th through November 8th will be played “under the cover of night.” There could be some more surprises in store for fans during the two week event, but Bungie is keeping that under wraps for now.
Patch Notes for the Festival of the Lost will be posted later in the day after Festival of the Lost goes live. Bungie previewed some of the changes coming to the Silver Dust economy last week, which will roll out its first phase with Festival of the Lost. It is unknown whether those changes will also go live at reset or if a separate Hot Fix will be pushed to Destiny at some other time this week.
This event is the next addition to Destiny in the plan for Year 3 that Bungie has announced so far. It will be followed by Wrath of the Machine Challenge Modes and then a winter event that includes Sparrow Racing League.
What are you most looking forward to with Festival of the Lost? Will you be playing at reset? Let us know in the comments.
