Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta File Size Revealed

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta File Size Revealed

Video game publisher Activision officially confirms the file size for its futuristic first-person shooter Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s forthcoming beta.

With a recent Nielsen survey predicting Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to be one of the most anticipated video games of holiday 2016, it’s safe to say most fans’ trigger fingers are surely itching for some action as soon as possible. Although gamers won’t be able to jump into the futuristic fray just yet, Activision has thankfully revealed the file size for the first-person shooter’s forthcoming beta — which comes to PS4 first — declaring that players can start pre-loading for the title’s trial today.

As seen in the tweet below, Activision has stated on the official Twitter account for the promotion of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare that pre-downloads for the game’s beta should begin today at 11:00 AM PT for those who have already redeemed their pre-order codes. For those in different time zones around the globe, it means that the beta’s pre-loading should begin at 2:00 PM ET, 7:00 PM BST, and 8:00 CEST.

With this being the case, those wanting to take part in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trial might want to start clearing space on their PlayStation 4 consoles’ hard drives, because the file size for the beta weighs in at a rather hefty 19 GB, as Activision revealed in another tweet. Fans who wish to check their eligibility for the beta can do so right here.

The PS4 beta for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is expected to begin tomorrow, October 14, at 11:00 AM PT, and it will include three maps and four game modes. The areas are going to be Frontier, Frost, and Throwback, and the match styles are going to include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, as well as a brand new mode called Defender, which will have players pick up a drone and defend it against enemies until it resets.

While PlayStation 4 fans are going to be privy to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s beta first, Xbox One players will be able to join in soon after in a second round of gameplay, as the trial begins on October 21 for those playing primarily on the Microsoft console. As is to be expected, Xbox One fans will have access to all of the content that is going to be offered to those on PS4, but PC fans get the short end of the stick, as the beta won’t be coming to PC.

Beyond Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s beta and it’s file size, the proper game is set to have take up plenty of room itself, as Activision has confirmed a whopping 130 GB file size for the full release in order to account for both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. Considering all of the storage space being required of fans for the game’s contents and its beta, one can only hope it’s eventually worth freeing up such large swathes of data.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to launch on November 4, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
