Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered's New Cheats

Players that find all of the intel hidden in the campaign levels of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered can unlock four brand new cheats and filters.
In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, players were encouraged to collect all of the game’s intel for more than just unlocking achievements and trophies. In that game, collecting the intel hidden throughout the levels unlocked special cheats that made subsequent playthroughs a bit more amusing, with players able to add filters and other mutators to the experience. Luckily for fans of the original, cheats are returning in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, with four new ones being thrown into the mix as well.
By playing through the game’s campaign mode and finding all of the intel, players can unlock the Zakhaev’s Sons, Explosive Lemons, and Melon Head cheats, along with a new Ragtime Warfare filter. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Zakhaev’s Sons replaces all of the enemies in the game with the villain Viktor Zakaev, complete with a rocket launcher, which seems like it would make beating the game a great deal more challenging.
The Explosive Lemons cheat transforms all the grenades in the game into lemons. The Melon Head cheat also adds a hefty helping of fruit to the game, with all of the enemies’ heads replaced with watermelons. Players are encouraged to combine these new cheats with the new Ragtime Warfare filter for especially hilarious results when blazing through the remastered story mode.
For the most part, Modern Warfare Remastered seems like it is staying as true to the original as possible, but it’s nice that there is at least some new content for fans to enjoy. Besides new cheats, Modern Warfare Remastered is also bringing improved graphics, new achievements and trophies, and a new time paradox Easter Egg for players to discover.
It’s clear by these improvements that Raven Software is doing its best to make Modern Warfare Remastered a fully-featured game, which makes it somewhat puzzling that it isn’t being sold separately. One has to imagine that Activision would stand to sell significantly more copies of the game if it didn’t require Infinite Warfare to function, but perhaps Activision is worried that releasing Modern Warfare Remastered as a standalone release would cut into the sales of the new game in the series.
Time will tell if Activision’s choice to bundle Modern Warfare Remastered and Infinite Warfare together was a smart move or not. Hopefully all the effort Raven Software put into upgrading and improving Modern Warfare for current-gen hardware won’t go to waste, even if it means gamers will have to shell out extra cash for the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare just to play it.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be available on November 4th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
