Gears of War 4 is set to release next week, and will kick off a packed holiday release schedule that’s filled with numerous highly anticipated titles. As Xbox gamers prepare for the shooter, many are running through Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, the remastered rendition of the first game in the series. Others are playing through various sequels thanks to Xbox One’s backward compatibility feature.
Diehard Gears of War 4 fans will undoubtedly be on the lookout for any unique way to express their love for the franchise, and thanks to GameStop, they now have a new way to do so. According to the latest weekly ad from the gaming retailer, gamers who pick up a yearly Xbox Live Gold subscription will land themselves an exclusive pair of Gears of War socks.
As the below ad shows, the socks come in black and red, and sport the iconic Gears of War Crimson Omen. The deal is only available through GameStop, so interested gamers will need to head over to their local store to get a pair.
This isn’t the first time gamers have had a chance to nab themselves comfy game-themed footwear. Last year, Best Buy offered a similar deal with Fallout 4, which gave gamers a chance to get Vault Boy socks by picking up the game at the big box retail store.
GameStop is offering other Gears of War themed items this week as well in preparation for the game’s big launch on Tuesday. There are two Gears of War 4 Xbox Wireless controllers available, as well as a Gears of War 4 Xbox Elite Controller. Gamers can also get a Gears of War 4 Edition HyperX gaming headset, Xbox One Elite Controller Gears of War components, and a Seagate 2TB Gears of War 4 external hard drive.
The full batch of items will run gamers many hundreds of dollars, though that may not be too much of a stretch for the franchise’s biggest fans. As for the socks, they are free with an Xbox Live Gold 12 month membership, so anyone in need of upgrading can pick up a card and get the socks along with it for no additional cost. The Xbox Live membership is $60, and the socks are only available with the full year membership.
Those looking to pick up Gears of War 4 likely won’t be disappointed, as the game offers a compelling experience that’s true to the brand and makes the most of current-gen capabilities. Be sure to check out Game Rant’s Gears of War 4 review to see what else awaits on Tuesday.
