While many Destiny players have been racing their Sparrows and completing the King’s Fall Challenge Modes, Bungie has announced the next event on the horizon: this month’s Iron Banner PvP event.
Iron Banner will return to Destiny for its December run on Tuesday the 29th, sometime after 10 a.m. Pacific time. Players will know that the weapons and armor available during Iron Banner is on rotation, with different loot becoming available each event. This time around Lord Saladin will be bringing the new auto rifle Haakon’s Hatchet auto rifle and Deidris’s Retort shotgun.
The auto rifle is the high rate of fire/low impact archetype. The shotgun is a high-impact/low rate of fire archetype with a mid-to-high range stat. With the right perk roll (like Rangefinder and Accurized Ballistics) it could soar into Felwinter’s Lie territory.
On the armor side, each class will have access to their helmets, leg armor, and class items. Here’s how players can get their hands on the new Iron Banner loot:
Also appearing with this iteration of Iron Banner is the PlayStation-exclusive armor that was teased at PlayStation Experience earlier this month. It’s part of an ongoing set of exclusives and content that PlayStation users will get over the course of the next year.
Bungie also announced that Iron Banner will return to its original Control gametype. Last Iron Banner, Bungie switched up the event to feature the Clash gametype, which was met with mixed reactions by the Destiny community.
This will be the first Iron Banner since the big December Update, which rebalanced many of the game’s weapons. That introduced a new meta into the game, which has left the game’s community with a mixed reaction from loving it to hating it. If the current fad of loadouts carries into Iron Banner, expect to run into The Last Word hand cannon, as it has made quite the comeback with players since the December Update.
Until Iron Banner arrives, Sparrow Racing League is currently active in Destiny and will run until December 29, and provides the possibility for 320 Light armor drops.
Are you excited for the next Iron Banner? What do you think about Destiny‘s PlayStation-exclusive armor?
